Benefits of Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy can be described as a healing treatment that utilizes extract from natural plants to improve individuals' health and well-being. It may also addressed as "essential oil therapy" since aromatic essential oils are used. It promotes the health of the body, mind, and spirit, along with physical and emotional health. However, research regarding the effectiveness of aromatherapy is limited. With the studies done so far, aromatherapy has helped with relief from anxiety and depression, improved quality of life, and improved sleep. In addition, there are a few other studies regarding the specific type of essential oil and its benefits. For example, lavender oil may help reduce pain for individuals experiencing osteoarthritis of the knee, improve quality of life for those with dementia, and reduce pain in kidney stones.

Essential oils can be used in two ways, through inhalation or application to the skin through massage, lotions, or a bath. There are benefits for both uses that can help enhance individuals' daily lives. Learn more about the benefits of aromatherapy by clicking here
