April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) works toward the goal of raising public awareness about sexual assault through an annual campaign. This is to help educate communities and individuals regarding the prevention of sexual violence. The first Tuesday in April is the Day of Action and allows for individuals and commuities to take action in preventing against sexual violence.

Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) is recognized by both civilian and military communities. It is important to acknowledge the importance in educating ourselves and others, along with creating appropriate culture to rid of sexual assault. 

The theme for the 2019-2021 SAAPM is "Protecting Our People Protects Our Mission" which speaks volume. The goal is to eliminate sexual assault and spread awareness to educate others.
